1974 Norton 850 Commando- Staff Stuff with Mark Hoyer – Cycle World

I rode a 1971 750 Commando that looked just like this one with the gold lettering and striping. It was brand new, I was 14, and the owner said I could take it for a ride. I dropped it. He didn't kill me.

(The reason I dropped it was because the foot shifter and brake were reversed from what I was used to...crazy Brits!)

Best Adventure Motorcycle 2012: Triumph Tiger Explorer - Motorcycle USA

I'm not sure I agree, but then again, I've never ridden a Tiger. I would like to see one with the modern body work but with the older, "tiger" paint scheme.

World ends tomorrow--ride your motorcycle today

Oh yeah, I almost forgot that today is the last day. Let's call this 'Ride on the Last Day' day.

TomTom the GPS maker tries to make a viral video

It's probably true that they should stick to making GPS units. But the video is kinda funny.

Here's the text from their YouTube posting:
To promote our new competition at, we really, really tried to make a great video. But because we spent our entire advertising budget on thousands of great prizes and presents for you, this "viral" might not be as impressive as we would have liked. Sorry.

1971 Velocette Thruxton motorcycle - Jay Leno's Garage

In 1971 I bought ( & dad bought) a Kawasaki KE100 100-cc trail bike (see my motorcycle buying history here). This motorcycle, the Velocette Thruxton, would have been a better buy... :)

Jay Leno's Garage: Royal Enfield Motorcycle Sidecar

Even Jay thinks this motorcycle rig is cool.

Honda Goldwing FB6 plan is not working...

I'm clearly doing something wrong.

In the last 30 days, my Goldwing FB6 post from a month ago is the most popular post on my blog by a factor of 2. On that page, I've got a Paypal Donate™ button (there's another one below) and was sincerely hoping 20,000 kind, considerate, loving persons would donate $1.00 for a good cause*.

How much have I collected so far?
$0.00, zero, nada, zip, zilch,
I guess marketing is not in my skill set...I've got to work on this...seriously.

*The "cause" being the only way I can figure out how to become an owner of a 2013 FB6 and replacing the photo above with one of me.
