1974 Norton 850 Commando- Staff Stuff with Mark Hoyer – Cycle World
I rode a 1971 750 Commando that looked just like this one with the gold lettering and striping. It was brand new, I was 14, and the owner said I could take it for a ride. I dropped it. He didn't kill me.
(The reason I dropped it was because the foot shifter and brake were reversed from what I was used to...crazy Brits!)

TomTom the GPS maker tries to make a viral video
Here's the text from their YouTube posting:
To promote our new competition at http://www.tomtom.com/more, we really, really tried to make a great video. But because we spent our entire advertising budget on thousands of great prizes and presents for you, this "viral" might not be as impressive as we would have liked. Sorry.

1971 Velocette Thruxton motorcycle - Jay Leno's Garage
In 1971 I bought (well...mom & dad bought) a Kawasaki KE100 100-cc trail bike (see my motorcycle buying history here). This motorcycle, the Velocette Thruxton, would have been a better buy... :)

Honda Goldwing FB6 purchase...my plan is not working...
I'm clearly doing something wrong.
In the last 30 days, my Goldwing FB6 post from a month ago is the most popular post on my blog by a factor of 2. On that page, I've got a Paypal Donate button (there's another one below) and was sincerely hoping 20,000 kind, considerate, loving persons would donate $1.00 for a good causeHow much have I collected so far?
$0.00, zero, nada, zip, zilch,I guess marketing is not in my skill set...I've got to work on this...seriously.

Why should I get the new Goldwing FB6?
Because Honda made it...just for me.
I need 20,000 of my friends to send me $1.00
Simply click the Paypal link below.
I'll endure a cross country road trip and take photos from every corner of the US. You'll get your money's worth, I promise.
Sincerely,
Your friend and fellow rider,
John

Motorcycle quote of the day (maybe the week...the month!)
People are more violently opposed to fur than leather because it's safer to harass rich women than motorcycle gangs.
